Finally, lefties get a high-end version built to race. The new model boasts a left-side ejection and left-handed charging handle and push-button, cross-bolt manual safety. It still feeds from a detachable 10-rotary magazine, this one specially designed for this rifle. The Custom Shop 10/22 Competition Rifle brings all the bells and whistles. And don’t sleep on right-handed shooters enjoying the benefits of a left-port design. It provides incredible utility on the bench.
The receiver comes secured in a painted and textured laminated stock. It provides a slip-free grip design. The stock also features a fully-adjustable cheek rest, repositioning horizontally and vertically. The design allows for a custom-adjusted feel for comfort and stability.
A 16 1/8-inch barrel comes fluted to reduce weight and dissipate heat. Meanwhile, a 1/2″-28 thread pattern accommodates an included muzzle brake or a host of aftermarket accessories. The barrel also features a proprietary, enhanced semi-auto chamber. It increases accuracy and precision, according to Ruger, without compromising reliable feeding and extraction.
Built to Compete
The 10/22 Competition Rifle features a hard-coat, anodized, CNC-machined, heat-treated and stress-relieved 6061-T6511 aluminum receiver. It includes an integral, optics-ready 30 MOA Picatinny rail. The custom receiver pairs with a heat-treated and nitrided CNC-machined match bolt. The combination delivers a tight-fitting, smooth action, according to Ruger.
A dual bedding system incorporates a second lug, ensuring secure receiver fit to the stock. The rifle also comes with an innovative second barrel locator, providing a free-floating barrel for better accuracy. The receiver comes with a rear cleaning port, providing access to the barrel from the rear of the receiver.
Further promoting accuracy, the rifle includes a Ruger BX-Trigger. An oversized bolt and match bolt release add to the appeal. An ambi mag release, hard case and 10-round left-haded rotary mag round out this extremely cool package.
The Left-Handed Custom Shop 10/22 Competition Rifle retails for $899. For even more info, please visit ruger.com.
