As an inventor, Musk’s talents aren’t limited to just cars. After several teases on what was thought to originally be a gag, Musk has unveiled a commercially available flamethrower.
Distributed through his startup The Boring Company, the flamethrower went on sale Saturday and is limited to 20,000.
At $500 a pop (plus tax), as of midnight Monday morning, Musk sold 7,000 Boring Company Flamethrowers.
Update: As of Monday at 4 p.m. EST, 10,000 units have been sold.
Flames only shoot out to 3 feet, but the concept and design are pretty cool. We say only 3 feet because the XM42 from The Ion Productions Team can reach up to 30 feet.
The Boring Company says shipping starts in the spring.
