For our latest “Custom Challenge” we have something truly unique. SCCY Firearms was happy to offer a DVG-1RD for the role. We actually had an exclusive range test of the pistol when it first came out in February 2020. The DVG-1RD is a striker-fired 9mm with an overall length of only 6.01 inches and weighs 15.5 ounces empty. It offers 10+1 rounds of firepower and a Crimson Trace red-dot to help you get and stay on target. It has a MSRP of $400, but after Odin got through with it, the custom SCCY DVG-1RD now has a value of $900.
Odin’s Custom SCCY DVG-1RD
Similar to my personal Draug 5.56 rifle — which you can read about in the June/July 2021 issue of Ballistic Magazine — Odin covered this “mini-draug” with Norse knotwork. The details of it are just impeccable, especially how the design flows from the frame to the slide. It is a great everyday carry piece that you can proudly show off to your buddies.
I always learn a lot every time I visit Odin’s Workshop — everything from firearms to folklore. These guys aren’t just Cerakoters, they are a full-fledged gunsmithing shop that turns your dreams into a reality. The brothers gave me a sneak peek on some projects they are working on, and I can’t wait till they finish them.

WARNING: A Facebook user, under a fake account, reportedly made contact with Ballistic readers under the guise of Odin’s Workshop. It read, in part: “CONGRATULATIONS you for you who received message from me and who was chosen as a winner …” Please make sure to only communicate with trusted sources, from verified accounts. Please be advised, our Giveaway winner will be contacted by Ballistic Magazine. – Eds.
