Well, it’s official. The Hi-Point Name the Nine promotion indeed named the gun just what we thought it might, the YC9. Pushed by an unprecedented wave of fan voting and support, the YC9 becomes the name of Hi-Point’s latest semi-auto pistol. And it did so in the most remarkable fashion.
“YC9!!!!!!,” Hi-Point posted on Facebook. “YC9 is the winner! Not that anyone here is really surprised. What is surprising was that almost half a million votes for YC9. Way cool. The Yeet is strong! Look to see the YC9 and the YC9 YEET CANNON late 2019! Cameron M. you were the first person to submit YC9 as a model number name. Check your e-mail, we will be reaching out to you. If you can’t wait for the YC9 then we have the C9 YEET CANNON G1 edition! These will be a limited run.”
So along with one lucky winner getting announced, Hi-Point dropped another interesting nugget in that latest post. While the actual YC9 becomes available later this year, fans can get a specially-marked C09 Yeet Cannon G1 right now.
The Hi-Point Yeet Cannon G1 features a high-impact polymer frame and grips. Outside, a durable, easy-grip finish offers purchase. Both an external, manual thumb safety and magazine disconnect safety come standard. The pistol employs a last-round lock open feature and is rated for +P ammunition.
Gun fans via social media, mostly epic trolling, demanded Hi-Point make the YC9. Now two such guns are on their way from Hi-Point. Now gun fans got some buying to do.
