Further proof that guns and metal go hand-in-hand, Danny Worsnop, vocalist English metal band Asking Alexandria sat down with the We Like Shooting crew last week. Turns out when he’s not entertaining millions of fans, he’s likely at the range.
The cast for episode No. 276 includes Shawn Herrin, Aaron Krieger, Savage1r, Jeremy Pozderac and Nick Lynch.
Danny Worsnop Is the Man
“English Entertainer Enjoys Guns” isn’t a headline you think would be common, but that’s Worsnop. Originally from England, Worsnop came to the U.S. when he was 17. He always had a serious interest in guns, but that hit an all-time high once he was stateside.
“Always been a huge fan [of guns],” he said.” As I’m sure you guys have heard, it’s very difficult to procure them over there. So once I got over here, it was finally a chance to throw myself into that world.”
“Once I got over here it became a recreational thing,” he added. “I just immersed myself as much as possible and try and ‘pew’ as much as possible.”
How big of a gun guy is he? Turns out he’s actually the president of Article 15 Clothing. If you’re unfamiliar, Article 15 is a veteran-owned clothing company that prides itself on giving back to the veteran community. They reached out to Worsnop, who was already a fan of the clothing line. Long story short: now he’s the president.
Worsnop said he spends a lot of time on the range for the therapy it provides.
“It’s an incredible discipline. Yes, it’s a lot of fun and you can mess around, but it requires focus and it’s something to train and focus on,” he said. “My mind is crazy and I’m constantly going and constantly doing stuff. And when I’m shooting it’s like everything else goes away and I just have one thing I can focus on. It’s almost therapeutic. It’s cathartic.”
